At 11:00 a.m., meet your guide in the hotel lobby to begin a full-day guided tour of Tokyo. Throughout the day, the guide will coordinate all necessary transportation to ensure a smooth and efficient itinerary.
Our first stop will be the iconic Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple and one of the city’s most important religious landmarks. We will then enjoy a stroll through the historic district of Asakusa, where the traditional atmosphere of old Tokyo has been carefully preserved.
Next, we will explore the famous Nakamise Street, one of Japan’s oldest shopping streets, renowned for its traditional craft shops, souvenirs, and authentic Japanese products.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant specializing in sushi, with alternative menu options available.
At 4:00 p.m., we will proceed to the Asakusa Culture and Tourist Information Center, from where we will walk to the venue where a traditional Japanese tea ceremony will take place. This space has been specifically designed for the practice of chanoyu, also known as the Way of Tea.
During the visit, we will discover this refined ritual art form, in which the preparation of matcha tea transcends the culinary realm and becomes a true cultural and aesthetic expression. Before entering the tea room, guests will receive an introduction to the etiquette and customs associated with the ceremony.
Once seated, we will attend a presentation explaining the historical and cultural significance of this tradition, as well as the ingredients and utensils essential to its practice.
Guests will learn about matcha, a finely ground green tea powder, and observe the use of traditional tools such as the chawan (tea bowl), chasen (bamboo whisk), and chashaku (tea scoop).
During the approximately 40-minute ceremony, participants will follow each stage of the preparation process, beginning with the transformation of tea leaves into powder. Afterwards, each guest will have the opportunity to prepare their own matcha under the supervision of tea specialists, learning the proper whisking techniques required to achieve a smooth texture and delicate foam.
The experience concludes with a tasting of freshly prepared matcha accompanied by traditional Japanese sweets, which may vary according to seasonal availability.
We will then continue to Tokyo Skytree, one of the tallest broadcasting towers in the world and a modern symbol of Tokyo. From its observation deck, guests will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the city and appreciate the vast scale of this remarkable metropolis.
The guided tour will conclude near the hotel, where a specially selected dining experience awaits for your first evening in Japan.
Dinner at Tsujita Suidobashi
For this evening, we have selected an authentic Japanese culinary experience at Tsujita Suidobashi, one of Tokyo’s most renowned establishments for artisanal ramen and tsukemen. The restaurant is celebrated for its handmade noodles and rich traditional broths, slowly prepared according to recipes passed down through generations.
The house specialty is the famous tsukemen, a style of ramen in which the noodles are served separately from the concentrated broth, allowing guests to dip and enjoy them at their own pace. This is considered one of the finest ways to experience ramen in Japan.
Guests may also choose to accompany their dinner with traditional Japanese sake for a complete gastronomic experience.
Located just a few minutes’ walk from Sequence SUIDOBASHI Tokyo Hotel, this restaurant offers an excellent opportunity to discover authentic local dining culture in one of Tokyo’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
After dinner, return to the hotel and overnight accommodation.
