DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN HUÁNUCO – CITY TOUR / KOTOSH
Reception at the bus terminal and transfer to the selected hotel. Visit to the Plaza de Armas; the modern Cathedral, home to the "Señor de Burgos" (Lord of Burgos), King and Patron Saint of Huánuco; the Church of San Cristóbal, the oldest in the city; the Church of San Francisco; and the Calicanto Bridge, constructed using lime, river stones, and egg whites.
Visit to the Kotosh Archaeological Site, home to the famous "Temple of the Crossed Hands" (dating back over 4,000 years), and a view of the Quillarumi rock formation. Quillarumi rock paintings (optional).
Visit to the Artisans' House.
Overnight stay in Huánuco.
DAY 02: GARU MONUMENTAL CITADEL
Breakfast. Departure for the district of Choras; passing through Ayapitej, we will observe an impressive rock formation known as the "Inca's Crown" (Lacshahuarina). Continuing through Llicllatambo, we will view the majestic Huayhuash mountain range. Upon arriving in Choras, we will hike along a trail built by the Yaros (a pre-Inca culture) to reach the monumental citadel of Garu. There, we will explore its passageways and structures, such as the Temple of the Three Crosses, the 7 Windows, the Twin Towers, the viewpoint, and more.
Return to the city of Huánuco.
Overnight stay.
DAY 03: HUAYLLAY STONE FOREST
Breakfast.
Transfer to Huayllay. We will also visit the medicinal thermal springs.
We will explore the Huayllay Stone Forest, considered the "largest and highest geological forest in the world"; it is one of the wonders of the world and remains a mystery to this day. Its main attraction lies in its thousands of stone figures and naturally carved rock formations—dating back approximately 70 million years—such as "The Elephant," "The Alpaca," and "The Cobra," all situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level.
Return to Huánuco. Overnight stay.
DAY 04: TINGO MARÍA / NATIONAL PARK – HUÁNUCO (DEPARTURE)
Continental breakfast.
Departure for the city of Tingo María. En route, observe the climatic and geographical transition at Carpish Pass as you enter the jungle. Visit the Cueva de las Pavas (Cave of the Pavas), featuring a rock formation that resembles a woman's silhouette, and enjoy a tasting of exotic drinks. Visit the Cueva de las Lechuzas (Cave of the Owls) to view formations created by stalactites and stalagmites, as well as *guácharos* (oilbirds, an endangered species). Visit the Jacintillo sulfur springs, known for their medicinal properties. Visit the UNAS animal breeding center and botanical garden. Visit the artisan center.
Transfer to the transport terminal – Return to point of origin.
